College Recruitment Timeline

Freshman year 

1.     Top Division I prospects start getting evaluated by Division I programs their freshman year; it starts that early.

2.     Coaches Start watching players at tournaments

3.     Coaches May start sending players invites to College ID Camps

4.     Coaches can send  information on the school

5.     Start shoring up any issues with Grade Point Average

6.     Take practice SAT (PSAT)

Sophomore year

1.      Top Division I prospects start getting evaluated by Division I programs their freshman year; it starts that early.

2.     Coaches attend major tournaments throughout the country for clearly identifiable D1 Athletes at this time

3.     Coaches May start sending players invites to College ID Camps

4.     Coaches can send  information on the school

5.     GPA should be high and predictable

6.     Take practice SAT (PSAT)

Junior year

1.      D1 prospects can receive personal contact from D1 Coaches after Sept 1

2.     D1 prospects can be invited to Campus for Unofficial Visits

3.     Usually more Than Half of D1 Recruits have made verbal commitments by the end of their Jr Year of High School

4.     D2, D3 and NAIA prospects can receive personalized emails, letters and camp invitations

5.     Coaches attend major showcases, and tournaments throughout the country for clearly identifiable D1 Athletes at this time

6.     Coaches May start sending players invites to College ID Camps

7.     Coaches can send  information on the school

8.     GPA should be high and predictable

9.     Take SAT and ACT and achieve high scores!

 

Senior year

1.    D1 prospects can receive phone calls on or after July 1st, and stay in receive periodic calls from the coach

2.     D1 offered an athletic scholarship the student will sign the National Letter of Intent on the Initial Signing Date in February

3.     Usually more Than Half of D1 Recruits have made verbal commitments by the end of their Jr Year of High School

4.     D2, D3 and NAIA prospects can start calling their prospects starting June 15th before the Senior year

5.     GPA should be high and predictable

6.     Take SAT and ACT and achieve high scores!
