ACES SUNTROKE

The Aces opened their Fall Season with the Elk Grove Sunstroke Tournament on August 4th and 5th.  The girls opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over last years champions the FC Elk Grove Fusion.  Then they beat the Solano Fire 4-1 in the afternoon.  Sunday morning the stamped their pass to the Championship game with a 2-1 victory over the Danville Mustang team.  In the Championship game the girls fell short losing 2-0 to the FC Elk Grove Fusion. A disappointing end to a good weekend but we were still very proud of our girls and their effort!

JETS HIGHRES2

The Galt FC Premier 00B saw their dream become a reality Saturday morning in Woodland. Despite the chilly morning air and plenty of nerves, these incredible players faced what many agreed would be the toughest State Cup final of their young soccer careers. Standing across the field were the returning State Champions, San Juan Lightning Blue.
The boys were well-prepared and ready for the battle they were about to enter. The whistle blew, and the game was off to a blistering pace. Galt FC kept focused and pressured the defense of San Juan. About 10 minutes into the game, Galt's left mid ripped a laser shot from the left side, sticking it far post off a great combination play. About 15 minutes later, Galt's right mid scored a beautiful shot that hit under the cross bar to make the score 2-0, off a broken set play.
San Juan showed their resolve and came right back making a goal of their own, and the score was 2-1.
